Ashley Olsen FASHION Magazine

Here’s a first look at Ashley Olsen on the cover of the September issue of FASHION. It’s a beautiful set of photographs with, of course!, only pruned lips involved and a lot of dark eyes. Am all over the heavily lined eyes. If only my eyes weren’t so oily.
Ashley and Mary-Kate are adding a denim line to their growing label. I won’t lie – I like Elizabeth & James. A LOT. More than The Row. It’s good clothes. Textile Elizabeth & James will be available this fall. Will be interested to see if the twins can do jeans.
As for the article – Ashley talks about how it all started (she made 2 pieces for friends) and her boyfriend Justin Bartha (who was NOT Jennifer Aniston’s mystery date) and whether or not children are in her future.
She also breaks down how she and MK run the business. This made my life:
Contrary to popular belief, Mary-Kate and Ashley are two very different women with different roles in their companies. Ashley is the main brain behind the brand building, while Mary-Kate’s creative strength is storytelling— she often works on the “narrative”of a collection.
The “narrative” of something is my new favourite job description.
Rebecca Minkoff Launching Footwear Collection for Spring 2011

Rebecca Minkoff announces exciting news this morning, along with her fab bags she’ll be launching footwear for spring 2011. According to WWD, the first collection will be 25 styles and will make their debut at her rtw presentation during New York fashion week. Most of the styles display signature leather detailing, called the “MAB flap.” (MAB is short for Morning After Bag, Minkoff’s first handbag, on which the feature appeared.) The line will retail for $160 to $395.
“I’ve always been obsessed with shoes,” said Minkoff. “I’ve been wanting to do this for three years, but I wanted to wait until it felt right.”
Cute shoes! Can’t wait to see the full collection! Do you like the styles?
Rodarte’s Gorgeous Black Swan Costumes

By the time the calendar flips over to September the fashion world is in a frenzy gearing up for the marathon of events associated with Fashion Week. This year we’ll have an excuse to lean back and catch a movie since fashion’s invaded that field as well. Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan opens at the Venice Film Festival September 1. The amazingly talented Mulleavy sisters Kate and Laura of Rodarte designed the costumes for the movie’s entire corp of ballet dancers. In the flick, Natalie Portman plays a ballerina with some stiff competition from Mila Kunis’ character and the relationship between the two gets a little twisted. Whatever twists and turns the plot takes we’re sure all eyes will be on the feathered beauties created by Rodarte. This may be their first try at costume design but we hope it isn’t the last.

Lisa Linde wore Urban Renewal Levi’s cutoff shorts to the Nylon + Express August Denim Issue Party. Lisaused to play Ali McIntyre on Days of our Lives and is also James Marsden’s wife. They have been married for 10 years now!
Lisa sure knows how to show off her gams in these shorts! I don’t care what anyone says, Levi’s are still awesome and a very “in” brand!
Marc Jacobs Strips for Calvin Klein Interview in Harper’s Bazaar

Marc Jacobs knows clothes, but that doesn’t mean he has to wear them, OK?
The designer strips off in a revealing new interview with Calvin Klein for the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Covered only by a well-placed bathrobe in the Nan Goldin-shot image, Jacobs opens up about his nude Bang fragrance ad, his desire to create wearable fashions, and his body image.
“When guys started looking at me and asking me out on dates, I felt way better about myself,” he tells Klein.
“So it was hard to keep my clothes on, actually. And whenever I was asked to take my clothes off, I was like, ‘Sure! I haven’t worked out for three years to keep this all under wraps.’”
Don’t let us stop you. We’re still mopping up the drool from that Bang ad.
“I did feel good about the way I looked, so it was easy and — well, a guy looks better to me with no clothes on than with clothes,” Jacobs says of the shoot.
Fair enough. But when it comes to his clients — which may soon extend to plus-size gals – Jacobs seems grounded in reality.
“I’m not interested in making stuff for museums; I want the clothes to be worn,” he says.
“I don’t care if the girl sits on a curb in them after a party and they’re destroyed.
“I have to believe that there’s going to be a life for these things. Otherwise, I wouldn’t send them down the catwalk.”
Word. But trust us, MJ — if we wear one of your designs and it gets destroyed, we’ll care enough for the both of us.

Behold Calvin Klein’s Latest Shots of the Spectacular David Agbodji

As far as bodies go, David Agbodji is like the Gisele of the male modeling world: His whole body is unreal, but his legs and behind are especially spectacular. Calvin Klein previously called attention to the splendor of his backside in its Madison Avenue windows, where a giant shot of Agdobji’s greasy rump once faced the tony street directly. In the fall, his same greasy gorgeousness faced down onto Houston from the Calvin Klein billboard there. Calvin hired Adbodji again to star in the fall campaign, in which he’s much more matte than wet-looking. See for yourself in the slideshow.
